Alumni
Rotary Foundation Alumni Committee District 7510
The overall goal of the Rotary Foundation alumni committee is to:
• Encourage Rotary clubs and districts to involve Foundation Alumni in Rotary
activities;
• Urge clubs to consider alumni as potential members of Rotary and as potential
contributors to the Foundation; and
• Use alumni as effective advocates for the programs of the Foundation.
Who are Rotary Foundation Alumni?
Each year, thousands of people around the world take part in one of the many
programs of The Rotary Foundation. Ambassadorial scholarships and Group Study
Exchange travel enrich the lives of participants and spread Rotary's vision of
peace and world understanding. These experiences foster international
understanding through person-to-person contact, friendship, study, service, and
cross-cultural exchange. Foundation program participants serve as goodwill
ambassadors not just when they’re abroad, but also when they return to District
7510 as alumni.
These folks have a connection to Rotary clubs around the world who sponsor and
host their experience. Many Rotary Foundation alumni continue to stay connected
and give back to Rotary in a variety of ways. Some eventually become Rotary club
members themselves. The time spent living, learning, or serving in a land other
than their own makes every Foundation alumnus an advocate for Rotary’s ideals.
Alumni Associations
Rotary Foundation alumni associations are a great way for alumni to stay in
touch with each other and to continue to build their relationships with Rotary.
Associations are often affiliated with a Rotary district, although some reach
out to include alumni from an entire country, like the French Alumni Association
and the German Foundation Association. Active alumni associations often organize
social events, such as dinners or lunches, and perform service projects
conducted with the help of a local Rotary or Rotaract club or organize special
Foundation fundraising events designed to support the mission of The Rotary
Foundation.
