Providing access and support for projects needing safe drinking water.
Clean Water for a Haitian School
We partner with Pure Water For The World, a 501c3 non-profit, in Haiti and Central America creating sustainable solutions for people existing on less than $.50 a day. Naming opportunities for classrooms, schools, clinics, orphanages and villages are available.
Education is the most important factor. Teaching proper hand washing saves lives and prevents illnesses at the same rate as providing safe drinking water. When education and culturally appropriate water projects are implemented, a sustainable difference can be achieved.
We recognize the uniqueness of our clubs and will assist creating safe water solutions for your club's international service project.
Thanks in a large part from the support of people like you, a measurable difference is occurring.
In 1990, the United Nations set a millennium development goal (MDG) to reduce by half the 1.2 billion people who do not have access to sustainable safe drinking water by 2015. A joint press release on 3/6/12 by UNICEF/WHO announced that MDG has been achieved. “For children this is especially good news,” said UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake. “Every day more than 3,000 children die from diarrheal disease. Achieving this goal will go a long way to saving children’s lives.” He when on to say the 1.2 billion has been reduced to 783 million people who are without access to drinking water.
Listed below are summaries of Pure Water for the World projects. We continue to grow and create positive change in the lives of the Earth’s poor. Many who still lack access are the hardest to reach because it must be done one family at a time. That is our specialty.
