State Vocational Assembly

District Governor Mike with RI President Bill Boyd at this year’s Vocational Assembly, October 11, 2006.
Rotary is an organization of business owners and professional persons, working together through service to provide for our local and international communities. We are bound by the principle of Service Above Self, to attain world peace. This award celebrates the opportunity of service within our vocation. Once a year every Rotary Club in the State of New Jersey is given the opportunity to nominate one of their own for this special award. The Vocational Service Award is given to a Rotarian who provides Vocational Service, not just doing their job well, but going above and beyond and offering service to those needing guidance.
The state of New Jersey is unique in the world. We celebrate Vocational Service once a year during October jointly as 5 Rotary Districts. This is the only State Wide Vocational Assembly in the Rotary World. Each District goes through a process of accepting and voting on all the applications submitted from their clubs. There is one winner from each district. All five districts join at the Assembly, we celebrate Vocation, we hear thought leaders on the topic, the winners and a keynote speaker. All Rotarians are welcome to join us. This year the Assembly will be hosted by District 7640, and be held on Monday, October 8, 2007 in Atlantic City.
