Youth Service

Rotary International is supported by the annual contributions made by every Rotary Club to the Rotary Foundation. Our Rotary District 7510 is also dependent upon the support of every Rotary Club. Furthermore, a successful Rotary Club depends upon the contributions made by their active Rotarians.

How do the Rotarians in your Rotary Club contribute?

Please remind them of the Rotary motto: "Service above self, he or she who serves most, serves best." Does your Rotary Club sponsor a Youth Service program? Are there Rotarians who would like to join one of our committees or would like to learn how to help operate these valuable programs? Rotary District 7510 values the continuous support of these Youth Service programs. Rotarians need to follow the Four Avenues of Service and the 4 –Way Test. Rotary Clubs are reminded to include their youth group in, at least, one major Rotary Club group project each year. Sharing tasks can be fun and your positive actions will speak louder than words.

Currently, the International Youth Exchange and Mentoring programs are operating well. The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program could use more support. RYLA provides select high school students the opportunity to attend a weekend of leadership training with fun and educational activities. The Rotary Interact Service Club program is growing at the high school level, as well as, the Rotary Rotaract Service Club program at the college level. Our Rotary District sponsors an annual Rotary Interact Officers Leadership Training Workshop (LTW), and an annual Beach Sweep at Sandy Hook, both of which are run by Rotarian volunteers. Many Rotary Clubs sponsor the grade school level program named, Earlyact Service Club. These Rotary programs help us to demonstrate the value and commitment of working together to achieve our goals. Our Rotary District 7510 is currently seeking dedicated Rotarian volunteers for each of these important programs. The formation of committees would enhance their support. New ideas and suggestions are always welcome. If interested, or if you would like further information, please contact the Rotary District Youth Service Director, or the program chair person.

Finally, if your Rotary Club would like a presentation about any of these programs, please contact the program chair person.
